The Rosary is a beautiful prayer form which in its completeness consists of meditations on 20 mysteries. Usually, the mysteries are only taken 5 at a time. Beads are used used to help with the counting of the individual prayers.
While the prayers are being said, one should try to meditate on the Mysteries of the Rosary or their equivalent thoughts (for examples, humility, patience, charity). The repetition of the prayers alone are not the sole object of saying the Rosary, the important part is having a good intention and desire to think good thoughts.
The Joyful Mysteries are the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Birth of Jesus, the Presentation, and The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple.
The Sorrowful Mysteries are the Agony in the Garden, the Scourging at the Pillar, the Crowning with Thorns, the Carrying of the Cross, the Crucifixion.
The Glorious Mysteries are the Resurrection, the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Assumption, the Crowning of Our Lady Queen of Heaven
The Mysteries of Light are the Baptism of Jesus, the Wedding Feast of Cana, the Proclamation of the Kingdom of God,the Transfiguration, the Institution of the Eucharist
There are variations in some of the prayers said during the Rosary. The audio versions of the prayers below are one of the traditional sequences.
